UCLan - Guides to accessing UCLan Resources: UCLan Services

Accessing UCLan Resources

The University of Central Lancashire welcomes all HE students studying a UCLan course to all of their Libraries.  The resources here do not fall under the VALNOW umbrella and will be subject to the same rights as if you were based at the University e.g. standard loan borrowing as opposed to the VALNOW extended loan borrowing.  Any resources borrowed directly from the University libraries must be returned there.  You are able to check out 18 items at any one time. By searching the 'UCLan Library Search' link below you can check the availability of resources prior to visiting the Centre. If the item that you are searching for is not available there will be an option to request the item, this means that the student who currently has the item will be asked to return it by their due back date and no more renewals will be made.

The Main city campus is situated on;

St Peters Square,
Preston,
PR1 2HE

All other Centre information can be found in the 'UCLan Centres' link below.

Please note that you will need your student card to access the centres and to borrow resources.

A range of resources are available via the UCLan Library website (please see the link below).  You will have access to e-books, e-journals and e-databases which the university subscribe to solely for academic purposes.  These resources are accessible both on and off site 24/7.

You will be able to perform a simple search for items relating to your course and will be able to check if they are available, where they are available, if it is available online and how long the item is available for.

How to access.

You will need to log in to the University of Central Lancashire to be able to access any of their resources, it is recommended that you do this before carrying out any library searches.
