Your Guide to Learning Resources: Getting Started

Your College Card

StudentCard202021Your College Card

To obtain a college card, simply take proof of your course enrolment to the help desk of any LR Centre. A member of the LR Team will be pleased to take your photograph and print your card. The process takes only a couple of minutes.

At the start of your course, your card will be issued free, but a charge is usually made for replacements for lost cards.

Your card displays your photograph, your name, and your computer network username.

Your card identifies you as a student of the college and you are normally required to wear it when you are inside a college building college or taking part in college activities.

Your card allows you to:

  • Access the college buildings via the security barriers.
  • Borrow library items.
  • Quickly login to the printer/photocopy machines, purchase print allowance top-ups and obtaining computer network password resets.

Car Parking

Car Parking

Before you make use of a college car park you must first register your vehicle(s). It is important that you register every vehicle that you use.

Parking costs just one pound per day and vehicle access is monitored via a  CCTV number plate recognition system.

You must purchase a ticket before you exit the car park otherwise you will be issued with a fine.  Ticket machines are located inside the buildings in the main reception areas. You will need to enter your vehicle registration number.  There is no need to display the ticket in your vehicle.

Once you have purchased a ticket, there is no need to purchase a second ticket should you need to make use of another college car park later in the same day. Likewise, there is no need to purchase a second ticket should you exit the car park and come back later in the same day. However, to avoid the issue of a parking fine,  you must make sure that you purchase a ticket that covers your first use of a car park in any particular day, and make sure that you purchase the ticket before you exit the car park following your first use of the car park in that day.

If you exit a car park before purchasing a ticket, the parking fine will be issued even if you come back later in the day and purchase a ticket!
