Your Guide to Learning Resources: Reservations

How do I reserve an item?

To reserve an item you will need to:

Ask a member of the LRC staff at the helpdesk to place a reservation for you - you will need to provide your college ID card and you may select which LRC site you wish to collect your reservation from.

An email will be sent to your college email address notifying  you when the requested item is ready for collection, additionally a pop up message will appear on MyPC whenever you are logged on to any LRC computer notifying you the item is ready for pick up.

Reserved items will be held for collection for 1 week.

You can also reserve an item using the Library Catalogue.  The Library Catalogue is available via the VLE.  There is also a stand-alone machine located in the library at Parsons Walk, where LRC staff will be happy to direct you to.  To reserve a book, login to your library account, search for the book you require and click on ‘Place hold.’  You will receive an email when the item is ready for collection.

Book missing from the shelves?

If you cannot find the book you want, ask a member of staff who can check the shelves at our other locations and place a reservation for you.

Can I request a book from another site?

You can reserve an item from any of our LRCs and arrange for it to be delivered to the centre of your choice.
