Digital Literacy: Referencing

There are many different styles of Referencing.  The main two types of Referencing that are used at the college is Harvard & APA.  As it is useful to gain some understanding of referencing rather than rely on generators and referencing tools, we do have three extensive guides on Referencing that should guide you through many variations of referencing.  Please follow the links below to visit their respective guides.

There are many useful tools out there that can help with your referencing.  It is important to check with your tutors whether your chosen method of referencing is acceptable and not to use different tools as this can lead to inconsistent references.  There are several generators out there such as Neil's Toolbox but also there are many referencing management tools such as Zotero, RedWorks and one that is accessible via the college Mendeley which I have created a guide for as well as the in-built Word citation tool which can also be used.
