According to mind, in England 1 in 4 will experience a mental health problem of some kind. However in any given week, 1 in 6 have reported experiencing a common mental health problem such as depression or anxiety. These kinds of statistics look at a small section of people living in England and are usually living in private housing and are over 16 years old. These figures do tend to exclude people who are in hospital, prison or homeless, as such the true numbers are most likely higher than the published figures.
