In-text Citations - Secondary
Secondary Citation - Citing someone that has been quoted in another author's work
Example
You are reading a book written by Smith, and come across a reference to original work produced by Jones.
• IEEE style does not allow for the use of a secondary source.
• Locate the original source of information which is cited in a work which you have read.
• If an original source cannot be located, it should not be cited.
If possible, you should locate the original author's work, read it, and simply reference it in the usual way in your own assignment, allowing you to give credit to both authors.
