IEEE Referencing Guide: Personal Communication - Letter

Basic format to reference a private communication

The IEEE reference guide provides two options for unpublished sources.  These are sources that are unavailable to a reader.

Citation order 1.

• Author's Initial/s then surname
• Title if available, in double quotation marks
• Unpublished

OR

Citation order 2.

• Author's Initial/s then surname
• Private communication
• Abbreviated month day, year.
