Direct Quotations - Short

Place the quotation in your text and enclose it in double quotes " ".
Include a citation for the quote in the same sentence as the quote.
For a narrative citation, place the page number [s] in parentheses after the quotation.
A full reference should then appear in your reference list.

Example

As Neville emphasises, “you should cite all sources and present full details of these in your list of references” [1, p.37].
