For a web page on a government website - If a person is named on the title page, use her or him as author. If no person is named, use the government agency, department, or branch as a group author.

Also include:

  • The names of any parent agencies/departments in the source element of your reference.
  • The most specific publication date possible. 
  • Some web pages display a 'last updated' date.  If this date is clearly attributable to the specific content you are citing rather than the overall website, use the updated date in your reference.
  • The title of the webpage (in italics). 
  • Accessed
  • [Online]
  • The URL of the web page
