The APA Style

The APA 'Style'

undefinedThe APA has produced, and continues to update, a set of writing standards / guidelines  to help writers present their ideas in a clear, precise, and inclusive manner.

These guidelines are clearly described in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association - which is currently (January 2020) in its 7th edition.

The writing style that is promoted in the Publication Manual is generally referred to as the APA Style.  It has been adopted by writers in many disciplines around the world for concise, powerful, and persuasive scholarly communication.

As you may expect, the Publication Manual includes guidelines for the APA's own style of Harvard Referencing.

This style of Harvard Referencing differs somewhat from more commonly used Harvard styles such as the Cite-Them-Right style, and it is commonly referred to as the APA Referencing Style.
