Jade ~ LR Facilitator
Hi, I am Jade.
I have been working at the college since January 2018, having previously been employed as a sales assistant at Debenhams as well as a live-in personal carer.
I have qualifications in Drama, English Language and Media Studies; all obtained from Leigh Sixth Form.
During my spare time, I love to read Stephen King novels and watch movies. I am a huge Disney fan, with 'Nightmare Before Christmas', 'Beauty and the Beast' and 'Mary Poppins' being my three favourites.

Hello, I am Joanne.
I have been working here for over 12 years, having previously worked as a receptionist.
During my spare time I enjoy going on long walks and curling up watching films with my family.
My favourite book is 'Dashing Through the Snow' by Debbie Maccomber, a fantastic read for anyone who loves romance at Christmas.
Courtney ~ LR Apprentice
Hi, my name is Courtney.
I joined the LRC teams as an apprentice in March 2023. I was originally a student, studying Early Years in September but when I saw this apprenticeship going I just knew this would be something I would love to do.
In my free time, I absolutely love to read. Reading has always been my favourite thing to do ever since I was a little girl. My favourite genre's are Romance and Fantasy/Dystopian books. Along with reading, I also love to spend time with my friends and family and I love to watch movies. My favourite movies are any Disney movie and both of the Mamma Mia movies and of course Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Movie (I also love Taylor Swift, favourite singer, love her music)
The hardest thing about being a reader is choosing your favourite book but if I had to pick one, I would have to chose 'A Good Girl's Guide to Murder' series by Holly Jackson.
Paul ~ LR Team Leader
Hello, I am Paul and I am the Learning Resource Team Leader.
I have worked at the college for 21 years but previously I served in the Royal Artillery for 15 years, spending 10 of those years stationed in West Germany.
In my free time I enjoy keeping fit, mainly through cycling and running. During my down time I like chilling out with one of my favourite films such as Leon, The Dark Knight or Rogue One. Dianne ~ LR Facilitator
Hi, I am Dianne.
I have worked for Learning Resources for over 25 years, recently returning from a career break. During this time, I completed some home improvement projects, as I'm an avid fan of DIY.
Prior to working at the college, I worked as an administrator for various shipping and leisure companies.
Aside from DIY, in my spare time I enjoy sports, particularly badminton and tennis. You can find my favourite book, Khaled Hosseini’s ‘A Thousand Splendid Suns’, on our library catalogue.
Allyson ~ Librarian
Hello. I am Allyson and I am the Learning Resource Librarian.
I have been at the college for 6 years and I have been a librarian for over 30 years, working in public libraries for Essex, Derbyshire and Cheshire CC before switching to an academic library.
In my spare time I enjoy walking my pooch and of course, reading! My favourite book is always the last one I read, but if I had to choose I would have to say that Kate Atkinson's 'Life After Life' is top of my list. You can reserve my favourite book here by clicking the image below.

I recently joined the LRC team in November 2023, prior to this I was originally a student at Winstanley college, studying history and politics.
During my spare time, I enjoy travelling and spending time with my family.
If I had to choose one book to be my favourite, I would have to say Jaws by Peter Bradford Benchley which is a classic book to read and enjoy.
Daisy ~ LR Apprentice
Hello, I am Daisy.
I have just joined the LRC team as an apprentice. Although prior to this, I was studying a Cabin Crew course at the college for a year in order to start my Cabin Crew career when I have completed my apprenticeship.
In my free time I enjoy reading (especially horrors and thrillers). I also enjoy camping and baking.
My favourite film would have to be the 1980’s classic ‘The Goonies’ and my favourite book is Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame.
