VALNOW Service

Borrowing books from the University of Central  Lancashire (UCLan students only)

If you are a studying a UCLan higher education course at Wigan & Leigh College then you may borrow books from the UCLan Preston Library by using the VALNOW (Virtual Academic Library of the North West) service.

Essentially, the process is :

1. Use the UCLan library catalogue to search for a book.
2. Ensure that the book is not available from our own (W&L College) Library Service.
3. Ensure that the book is not available as an eBook.
4. Make an online  request for the book indicating from which W&L College LR Centre you wish to collect. [Note that you will need to enter your W&L College email address].
5. Once the book arrives, we will notify you.
6. Return the book to the LR Centre and we will post it back to UCLan.
